The boys were told to come to the main city of the elves called: 'Arborlon'. Walker wanted them to come on a journey to look for a treasure, but like all druids he doesn't tell you any more then really necesarry and so Bek and Quinten came on the journy. When walker went to them together with Hunter Predd they were hunting in the mountains of Wolfskaag. He lives at Paranor in the mountains, and the king of the Elves wanted Hunter Predd to go to bring all this news to the druid, after which the druid went to the king to talk about it, they spoke for a long time and then Walker went to search for a suitable fellowship for tracking the ways the map indicated.īek Rowe is one of the main characters too, together with his cousin Quinten Leah. There was also a man ' called 'Walker', a Druid. The Wing Rider went top bring the news to the king of the elves. She came to hear that there was someone interesting there and she went to the ill man, after which she used her magic to gain entrance to his mind and see what he had been hiding, she found that he was royal and some remains of a map, after which she killed him softly with her so called 'wishsong' (magic). Meanwhile a witch called the 'Ilse Witch' had her spy's everywere around the four lands where they were. It all started with a Wing Rider called 'Hunter Predd' (a wing rider is a man or woman who rides on the back of a roc), when he spotted a man in the water which he brought to a healer, the man had a map with him on which a route towards a lost city was described 'Castledown'. The story is divided into parts of many diferent main characters who all have a story of themselves to tell. This whole book was just the best scene and sometimes I came across a difficult word or phrase, but mostly I could make it up from the context, just once or twice I looked up something. Maybe the first few pages are to come into the story, but very soon afterwards you get so much into the book that you really have to shoot yourself out of the book to be able to quit it. I have a positive opinion about the book, I think its worth reading for anyone. I think it's fantasy because the backside of the book says it and becuase in fantasy like this book can happen lots more then in fiction, because fiction has to be more alike real life then fantasy and this book isn't.ġ1. This story is a fantasy story, mainly because we havent experienced anything like that in our own history so it must be fiction ot fantasy, nowadays you cant really describe the differences between fantasy and fiction becuase those two got to be looking very much alike. That's a bit where the first part ends.ġ0. Another problem for one of the main characters is a morale one, at the end of the book she doesn't know who to believe and who not. In the story there are the problems of surviving were all characters run into, and like almost all stories the main characters survive. So if anyone wanted to read a book, read this one.ĩ. But the book did affect me: I have never really liked fantasy books, but when i started to read this book, i couldn't stop reading (ectually I didn't want to read it, but since my other books were finished, I I had no other choise). As I previusly said it is a fantasy book, so there isn't someone that is trying to learn you something, it's pure amusement (happy me). So you get into the story very well I think.Ĩ. In this story there is no narrator, all stories are being told first person perspective. But for the rest the story is being told in chronological order.Ħ/7. Or on some occasions the story switches to another person a little time before to see the other side of the story. Sometimes in the story there are flashbacks, but the're used when a person remembers something or when someone tells a story about the past.

It's a fantasy world, but if i had to make a decision looking at the things they handle, i would say it was about the Middle ages. You can't compare the time in which the story plays with the time we handle (in the world we know as this universum). The fact is that you're travveling all the time form place to place and never have the story playing at the same spot and thats very good for me if im reading a story.Ĥ. There isn't really a place where the story takes place, much because the story is about many people, so everytime you change person and because its a travel story. Hunter Predd, important figure for bringin much news, old man, flying on bird. Walker Boh, the leader of the whole voyage, wise man, beard, druid. The title means: The Jerle Shannara, which is a ship, will be travelling on a voyage on which they will be rivalled by: 'The Ilse Witch'. Titel: The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara, Ilse Witchġ.
